Creative Introductions Icebreaker

This icebreaker typically lasts 15 – 30 minutes dependent upon number of participants.

Intended for:

This icebreaker works well at the start of any course involving presentation skills. In fact, it could be used at any time during a presentation skills programme and does not necessarily have to be used solely as an ice breaker. We also think that it helps to encourage people to think creatively so can be useful if you want to get those creative juices flowing.

Instructions to help you run the icebreaker can be downloaded from the link at the bottom of this page or you can follow the instructions below.

Resources Needed:

Flip chart paper if required

1. Pick one of the ‘styles’ from the bottom of this page, and ask everyone to prepare a two minute introduction about themselves in the particular style.

2. After 10 minutes ask each person in turn to present their introduction.

TV Listings

Describe yourself in the style of a TV listings magazine? What time of day would you be shown at, and why?

Personalised number plate or postcode

If you could choose a personalised number plate or postcode, what would it be, and why?
